Book realized in conclusion of “Parlami di te”, a project involving 400 people engaged in a dialogue between generations using the production of a collection of books, preserved in the Museum of Contemporary Photography.
The “Parlami di te” book is more than a simple narration about experiences: it’s a real visual essay, with ideas for further workshops using already existing iconographic material.
The publication is supported by an important graphic design, dealing with relevant questions faced in the “Parlami di te” project: a reflection on collective visual imaginary, on involving unspecialized people in cultural and museum projects and biographic and sharing themes.
The book deals with people, imagery and books themselves, but also with creation under the anthropological sign of do-it-yourself. As the bricoleur described by Claude Levi Strauss in La Pensèe Sauvage, people involved in workshops made different objects – the books – using a limited stock of images, contingent and fragmentary, built up over time without a precise purpose and charged with memories.
“Parlami di te” will be presented by curators Carole Simonetti and Diletta Zannelli. In dialogue with the four artists that conceived and realized workshops: Tiziano Doria, Calude Marzotto, Giulia Ticozzi and Ilaria Turba.
“Parlami di te” is a project curated by the Museum of Contemporary Photography, in collaboration with Il Pertini Cultual Space and with the contribution of Cariplo Foundation. Media partner: Cosebelle
